Submission Guidelines

ATTENTION WRITERS: We are currently seeking short content for our online site and for a sample magazine to be mailed out in September. Maximum 500-600 words. Can be poetry, writing articles, interviews, black and white photos, original art. Absolutely no reprints! Payment will be standard rates listed below plus 3 additional free copies of fall issue and special consideration for future work. E-mail submissions to submissions@revelrymagazine.com. Include the words "sample content" on message line. Deadline July 4th.

REVELRY MAGAZINE will not accept material that has appeared in other online or print publications. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but you must notify us immediately if your work has been accepted by another publication.

We accept submissions of:

• poetry:  up to five poems, 50 lines maximum per poem
• short fiction:  up to 5,000 words
• articles/interviews: up to 2000 words
• photography or original artwork:  up to 3 images with proof it is yours

Revelry Magazine will retain first rights to all accepted work and the right to archive all work on this website. Rights to all work in Revelry Magazine will revert to the author upon publication.

Payment: Accepted content will be paid as follows:

•  fiction: $10.00 per story plus two copies
• poetry: $5.00 per poem plus two copies
• photos/art: $5.00 per image plus two copies
• articles:  payment varies

 

 

 

 

How to Submit

• Email your submission to submissions@revelrymagazine.com
• Please indicate either poetry, short fiction, or photography with the word “revelry”  in the subject line( ie photography revelry for photos) failure to do so will result in your submission being deleted unread.
• For poetry and fiction, please paste the text of your submission into the body of the email.  Poetry or fiction submissions with attachments will not be considered.
• For photography, please provide the title of the photo in your email and attach your image.  We accept images only in the following formats:  GIF, JPG, PNG or TIF.   
• Please include your full name, email address and 3-5 line bio with your submission

You will receive an email notification about the status of your submission. We are currently reading submissions for our Spring 2010 issue. Please expect a response within 4 weeks.

What we are looking for:

fiction- compelling original fiction that makes us think , feel, care, laugh, cry, wonder, ponder, consider, empathize, or have some reaction about something that we might not have prior to reading your story. We do not publish genre fiction, as we are a Literary magazine, but we have some links for genre writers here.

articles- tell us something new about writing.

interviews- we'd like to read about emerging writers who are reaching a level of success, as well as published authors of any kind.
